Why Microsoft Windows hasn’t the function like “grep”? When analysing application logs, the question will  always be asked.

Defrag can be sorted by whole file system, files and page file. MS provides whole file system defragment tool with Windows NT/XP/2003.

M Sorry to recommend two tools of defragment, because i StiLL using wInDoWs. They are parts of defragment SOLUTION for MS wInDoWs, one for defag file, and the other for defrag page file, the total size  is less than 800KB, can U image it ?

ext2FSD is the best ext2/3 mount software for Windows. After install, allocate a driver letter, and reboot your Windows OS, you can read/write ext2/3 partition with the same way as NTFS.

ext2FSD is an open source software, can you image it?

I have used ext2FSD 4 years ago, and tried reading and writing ext3 partition, no error occured.

Recently I worked more under Windows XP, but need access the data in ext3 partition, explore2fs-1.07 is used first for extract/copy little data to NTFS. To solve ext3 writing issue, ext2FSD is the best choice.

ext2FSD released its new version V0.46a in 2008-05-24. The low version number doesn’t mean it’s not usable or not stable, it’s just shows the author’s perfect style and attitude. If you like MS style, please multiply the version by 100.

The new version V0.46a provide a GUI interface to config driver mounted by Windows, more convenient than ever(I haven’t test it after 2004).

If ext2/3 partition has Unicode char, such as Chinese and Japanese, you can use GUI to modify partition mount parameters, double click ext2/3 partition, change default to UTF char code, and reboot Windows.

Right Click and select “Copy Path ……”, it’s a very useful and simple function, but Windows XP doesn’t provide.

If you like, search keyword “PathCopy” using google or baidu, lots of freeware can be found.

I used PathCopyEx for several years. The software author is Mike Lin whose website is http://www.mlin.net. But I cann’t open his website.

PathCopyEx is only 87KB, and .msi format.

Althought knew “Sysinternals Suite” several years ago, I had never tested ZoomIt, which is part of “Sysinternals Suite“, the last one. To know ZoomIt was in a training class, our tutor gave us a lively show using it.

Sysinternals Suite is owned by Microsoft now.

If you want to emphasize something in your presentation, ZoomIt is very useful tool.

It’s green software, only 126KB.
